What Makes Someone a True Psychic
A true psychic receives information and insights, without logical reasons, with the aid of psychic powers.
Basically, everyone innately possesses psychic ability in one form or the other. Some people have advanced skills to offer their service to humankind while most do not. However, this should not discourage anyone who wishes to acquire psychic powers. Regular meditation exercises can strengthen one’s intuitive awareness and spiritual faith which are all essential aspects of fortune telling.
The following names a few of the different types of “psychic ability” or, better yet known as, “extrasensory perception” (ESP).*
Apports
The rare psychic power by which material objects are brought from one place to another by supernormal means. For example, a pen that is placed in a bag appears on the desk.
Astral Projection
When an individual who is in an altered state, usually during meditation, experiences his/her soul or spirit leaving the physical body.
Aura Reading
The power of detecting energy field by visually seeing the colors around a person or any living thing, and using the information to determine its state of emotional, spiritual or physical being. The various colors of the aura can also reveal important information about an individual’s health (e.g., location of illness or dis-ease).
Automatic Speaking
The power of speaking in another person’s voice or tongue, even though the psychic himself may not consciously know the language.
Automatic Writing
The ability to transcribe information received from Divine Intelligence or Angelic Spirits without any mental effort on the part of the writer.
Channeling
Also known as, “Medium”. A person who can contact and receive specific messages from the deceases or Higher Being.
Clairaudience
The ability to hear sounds not in physical sense but in paranormal state.
Clairsentience
The ability to somatically feel or detect energy vibration (e.g., of a person's auric field or chakras, the atmospheric surroundings in a place, or even an object, etc.,) that is beyond scientific reasoning.
Clairvoyance
The ability to receive information through visions, often involving future events.
Dowsing
A method of divining for water or minerals through the use of a device like pendulum or forked-stick.
Psychic Dreams
The ability to analyze and interpret the psychic symbolism and meanings of dream. Most psycho analysts believe they are the working of our subconscious mind and desires. Although not all dreams are psychic, those that are often would reveal a truth or predict future without a logical explanation.
Psychometry
The ability to touch an object (e.g., jewelry or clothing) and sense its past, present or future events in connection to the owner who seeks enlightenment.
Very rarely would you find someone who possesses ALL of the above skills. It is more common to find a psychic with two or three psychic skills. But even then, usually the pyschic would prefer to use mostly one or two of learned skills and less of the rests for personal reasons. For instance, in my case, I am most adept at clairsentience, followed by clairvoyance, channeling, and clairaudience.
*** I am just listing down a few very popular psychic abilities. If you are really interested in learning more, there are many books written about them in the form of an encyclopedia. You can find most of them at local bookstores or New Age shops.
