Remember to keep chanting Grand Master Lu's heart mantra as you fold each paper. Very important. Don't forget it! Otherwise, the paper lotus flower won't be empowered. This type of paper lotus flower is suitable to be offered to ancestral spirits or spirits who have crossed over. It is not suitable to be offered to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas because the paper flower does not have a stand at the bottom of the flower. Therefore, this is only suitable to be offered to lower spirit entities such as Earth God (福德正神) and ancestral spirits (祖先和亡者).
Materials: 8 rectangular fancy sheets.
1. Take 1 rectangular sheet.
2. Fold half to develop a crease.
3. Open and flip to the back of the sheet.
4. Fold the four corners toward the center or the crease as illustrated on the photo.
5. Fold to the center again.
6. Fold half. Complete.
7. Repeat steps 1-7 to make a total of 8 foldings.
8. Take all 8 folded petals and stack them together in an orderly fashion.
9. Determine your central focal point. Hold it with your thumb and index finger. Pull one folding long and one short evenly.
Tie the center with a string.
Carefully open up each corner of the petal folding as illustrated on the photo.
When done. Use a pair of scissors to cut the cord. Complete.
